What We Know So Far About Netflix’s Money Heist Series Berlin

Berlin

One of Netflix’s most popular shows, Money Heist (La Casa De Papel), is now gone, but the franchise is far from over. Not only do we now have a new South Korean adaptation of the Spanish series, but Berlin will also star in a full-fledged spin-off. The upcoming spin-off series, set to premiere in 2023, is described here. As we got closer to the final season, which premiered on Netflix in 2021 in two parts, a spin-off was long rumoured. Money Heist writer Alex Pina had hinted at the idea of incorporating additional characters from the mothership series multiple times.

Before Berlin was officially revealed, Alex Pina (creator of Money Heist) told Oprah Daily that he was open to a spin-off, adding, “We do have many potential for some spinoffs, yeah, and I think it’s owed to the characters’ strong and compelling identities.” We’ve always sought out figures with intricate, multifaceted designs. As a result, I believe that practically every character in Money Heist has a dualism that we would like to see in a spinoff. We could see any of them in different situations.”
Netflix officially announced the new season in late November 2021, only days before the release of Season 5, Part 2.

What will the theme of Berlin be?

As the title implies, we’ll concentrate on the main figure Berlin, also known as Andrés de Fonollosa. Despite the fact that his past was addressed in season 5, there is still a lot we don’t know about Berlin. There are five ex-wives, including Tatiana (played by Diana Gómez). In the series, he labelled his romances as the “5 times he believed in love.”
Given that Berlin is The Professor’s brother, we’ll probably go into their childhood together. We also don’t know much about their father’s death or how he met Palermo (another Berlin lover), Marsella, and Bogotá. We may also witness more of Berlin’s crime on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, when he stole 434 diamonds. We might also witness more of his fight against Helmer Myopathy.
Pedro Alonso and Alex Pina discussed the planned spinoff at Netflix’s 2022 Tudum event. “Love and heists,” Pina said as her initial response to the topic of what the new series is about. “This is going to be a journey through the character’s golden years,” Pina added. When he was madly in love and stole all over Europe.”

Who is behind Berlin on Netflix, and who will feature in it?

The show’s script will be written by Alex Pina once more. Through Vancouver Media, his production company, he will be employed. Also included in the list of production businesses is Atresmedia. In July 2018, Pina and Netflix agreed to a deal, which was then extended in March 2022.

Who will play the characters in Netflix’s Berlin series?

So far, only actor Pedro Alonso, 49, has been confirmed for the new series. Given that the show is likely to go into the past, we can make a few educated bets about who will star. Among the characters we believe will appear are:

Rodrigo de la Serna as Palermo
Álvaro Morte as El Profesor
Diana Gómez as Tatiana
