It’s official: Virgin River Season 5! The fifth season will address a lot of unresolved issues. Fans had high hopes for the Tudum event because they did learn several scoops on September 24.
Unfortunately, despite offering exclusives like “YOU,” “Emily in Paris,” “The Stranger Things,” and more, Netflix hasn’t shared anything about Virgin River Season 5. The fifth season of the Netflix love drama won’t be released for a long time, so.
Although Virgin River Season 5 and Season 4 were approved by Netflix in September 2021, people anticipated that both episodes would debut this year. The fourth season was released in July, however, it is unlikely that the fifth episode will be released in 2022.
If we go back in time, Virgin River’s first two seasons were published barely seven months apart, but there was a little pause between seasons 2 and 3. Since Virgin River Season 4 debuted in July, we may anticipate the release of Season 5 in 2023.
The actress who portrays Mel, Alexandra Breckenridge, predicted that Virgin River Season 5 will premiere in 2023 if filming for it began in the summer before the fourth installment was released.
What’s on Netflix provided production updates on July 18 by confirming that Virgin River Season 5 filming has started in British Columbia. This was confirmed by Annette O’Toole, who plays Hope, in an interview with PureWow: I’m traveling to Canada tomorrow to film season five.

The Robyn Carr book series served as the inspiration for Virgin River. It centers on Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), a young nurse practitioner and midwife who relocates from the big metropolis to a sleepy Northern California hamlet to begin a new career. She hoped it would be the ideal setting for a fresh start and the eradication of her traumatic memories. She quickly learns, however, that small-town life is more complicated than she had anticipated. Before she can properly call the Virgin River her home, she needs to learn how to cure herself.
