Netflix’s Heartstopper new season will likely arrive sooner rather than later. The wildly popular romantic comedy’s second season is currently being produced, so the streamer chose to tease fans by releasing a welcome video featuring the new cast members. A group of pals will once more be at the core of the new season of the teen drama as they learn more about their sexual orientation and make their way through the demanding high school environment.

Lead characters Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) will finally be able to celebrate their love in Season 2 after overcoming a number of challenges. Season 2 will also feature a full-fledged romance between the two. David Nelson, Nick’s older brother, will be played by Jack Barton in one of Netflix’s four new kiddos. The mother of David and Nick, played by Olivia Colman, may or may not return for Season 2 according to Netflix.

Teachers played relatively little of a role in Heartstopper in Season 1. Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade) mainly served as a safe haven for Charlie during recess from bullies. With the introduction of Nima Taleghani, who will portray a teacher at the boys’ school Truham, that is likely going to alter. In addition to appearing in various live productions of well-known plays, including Romeo and Juliet and Cyrano de Bergerac, Teleghani most recently appeared in the miniseries Hatton Garden.

The whole Season 1 main cast, which also includes Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, Sebastian Croft as Ben, Tobie Donovan as Isaac, Rhea Norwood as Imogen, and Jenny Walser as Tori, is expected to return. The second season of the show is presently in production in the UK, and Season 3 has already been renewed early.
