There may only be one word that adequately captures Ozark as a series or its characters, and that word is baffled. The series has had a number of moments where the results have completely taken us by surprise, and the final seven episodes are no exception. This has happened throughout the first through fourth seasons. Even though shows like Breaking Bad and Narcos have made it difficult to compete in the criminal genre, Ozark has managed to hold its own and has shown with each passing season that one of its stronger features has been its excellent cast.

Wrapping up a series as complicated as Ozark is no easy task given that there are many ways it can go wrong. In my observation, for most showrunners, the toughest job may be to tie all the loose ends that have been left from the initial seasons in a fitting way. For a series such as this, there are not only a lot of characters but also their deeds that deserve closure of sorts.

Apple Podcasts released a list of the 100 most popular shows and channels it offers on Thursday. And interestingly, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes’ SmartLess is second among the most popular subscriber shows. Since its initial release in 2020, the comedy interview podcast has debuted 114 episodes, one on a Monday.

Through meaningful conversation and improvisational humour, the podcast seeks to bring together individuals from all walks of life around similar experiences. The hosts conduct interviews with guests from the worlds of comedy, politics, cinema, and television. Its constant humour and the hosts’ ability to make fun of one another may be what keeps the audience interested. It might as well bring back the best times you’ve ever had with your high school and college friends thanks to its comic generosity.

In the most recent Top 10 rankings from Nielsen, the series was ranked first. 2.6 billion minutes of Ozark’s fourth season’s first half were viewed between April 25 and May 1. And season four’s 491.1 million hours of viewing make it one of the most popular Netflix series ever. But Jason Bateman is no longer simply Netflix’s top dog; he also reigns supreme on other media outlets.
