Future sci-fi movie They Cloned Tyrone on Netflix will star Jamie Foxx and John Boyega (Star Wars) (Django Unchained). Juel Taylor, who wrote Creed 2, will make his directorial debut with the movie. The movie’s script was written by Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier (The Light Thief). Charles D. King, Poppy Hanks, and their production firm Macro, who also worked on Netflix’s Raising Dion, produced the movie. Macro is an expert at portraying people of colour in the film and television industries. According to the company’s website, since its creation in 2015, the company’s multiple projects have earned it nine Oscar nominations and one win.

“A pulpy, sci-fi mystery caper in which an unlikely trio examines a series of strange happenings that lead them to a sinister plot hiding immediately beneath their hood.” Fontaine, a neighbourhood drug dealer, is shot dead by competitor Isaac and then awakens uninjured in his bed the next morning. He, Slick Charles, and Yo-Yo start investigating the incident, and their investigation takes them to a massive subterranean complex where a government-backed lab is conducting experiments on the local Black population. Fontaine first despairs after realising he is an artificial clone controlled by Nixon, but realises he must fight up to these white institutional masters for the sake of his neighbourhood.”
