Nightwing is at the core of the new DC Universe in Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, the conclusion of DC’s Dark Crisis saga.

DC will release Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 in December. The issue marks an end to the year-long Dark Crisis event, which was written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Daniel Sampere. The summary says, “The Great Darkness has been vanquished, but the battle between the last of the heroes and Deathstroke’s Dark Army has only just begun! Who will remain unharmed? Infinite Earths and the Justice League have returned, but at what price? Don’t miss the dramatic ending that ushers in the DC Universe in 2023!”

A new DC Universe is about to emerge.

The time before dawn is usually the darkest, and we have here. “The DC Universe has a fresh beginning,” declared Williamson. “Death was the beginning of this entire affair, and life is where we are now. Our magnum opus final issue demonstrates why expanding the mythology is when the DC Universe is at its strongest. Readers will notice that with this issue, as we have indicated from the beginning, this series is a love letter to the DC Universe and the major events. Each page of this narrative was labored over with great care by Daniel and me. One of the most fulfilling and challenging projects we’ve ever worked on. Finally, we start the DCU on a brand-new, thrilling path!

“This issue symbolizes the climax of the most exciting and significant project I’ve ever been a part of,” Sampere continued. Fans will discover a grand, unexpected, and emotional conclusion. DC lovers shouldn’t miss this; it’s going to be fun!

Sampere and Alejandro Sánchez created the cover art for Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7. The regular cover, which reads “Dawn of the DCU,” and Sampere and Sánchez’s 1:100 foil variation both prominently feature Nightwing/Dick Grayson. The Batman/Superman hybrid character from issue #4 of DC’s Batman/Superman: World’s Finest is also featured on the variant covers by Tony S. Daniel and Felipe Massafera. Viktor Bogdanovic, Dan Mora, Ian Churchill (1:25), Clay Mann, and Kyle Hotz all contribute more variations. DC will also provide a premium foil George Pérez homage version, which was previously announced this spring and features some of the characters the artist created for the publisher. The variation has artwork from a variety of artists, including Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Alex Ross, and more.
