Season 6 of Cobra Kai on Netflix: Renewal Status and What to Expect

Cobra Kai Season 6

The fifth season of Cobra Kai has officially ended and has been removed from Netflix, roundhouse kicking its way onto the watchlists of millions of subscribers worldwide. We’re currently awaiting Netflix to make a decision regarding Cobra Kai’s future but anticipate one to be made soon as many fans are anticipating an equally thrilling sixth season. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are the authors of the American martial arts television series Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai, formerly a YouTube Original Series, officially transferred to Netflix after two seasons, where it has since seen an even greater increase in popularity. The sequel to The Karate Kid movies, which takes place 34 years after the original Karate Kid’s events, reignites Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso’s rivalry in the series.

Has Cobra Kai been renewed for a sixth season?

Cobra Kai has not yet been renewed by Netflix for a sixth season as of the time of writing. The series will definitely be back at some point in the near future, though, we are already certain of that. In spite of the fact that we are still awaiting Netflix’s viewing statistics, Cobra Kai is currently ranked as the top series in a number of different countries as of September 13th, 2022. One of the most watched shows on Netflix, Cobra Kai, is still airing, and a renewal should be announced soon.

What does the future hold for Cobra Kai?

When Terry Silver’s cheating antics were revealed to his students, they all abandoned their sensei, and he was arrested for his crimes. The future of Cobra Kai is now in serious jeopardy, as is the dojo’s place in the Sekai Taikai.
Because Kim Da-Eun owns 50% of Cobra Kai, she may be able to overcome this barrier and employ students from her own dojos by utilising the Cobra Kai name and branding. Mike revealed to Daniel and Chozen that many years ago, Terry Silver had promised him a 50% ownership stake in Cobra Kai. There is a chance the former foe of Daniel could continue to atone for himself and Cobra Kai if he were to take control of the dojos, though he is unsure if he could locate the document or the attorney to prove it. However, if Mike Barnes leads Terry’s former students, who might have to battle Kim Da-students, Eun’s this could also result in a potential Cobra Kai civil war.

If Kreese and Kim Da-Eun are romantically involved, we might witness him attempt to manipulate events by persuading Kim Da-Eun to stake her 50% against Barnes’ 50% in a winner-takes-all wager at the Sekai Takai.
The only person Kreese can now turn to after breaking out of jail is Kim Da-Eun, the granddaughter of his former boss. Silver and Kim Da-Eun were already a formidable team, but Kreese is now more dangerous than ever because he has nothing to lose.

Who will return for Cobra Kai’s sixth season?

Cobra Kai already has a hugely impressive cast, but we anticipate that most of them will return for the sixth season in their respective roles from the fifth season, including;

Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso
William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence
Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso
Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene
Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso
Jacob Bertrand as Hawk
Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri
Martin Kove as John Kreese
Vanessa Rubio as Carmen Diaz
Peyton List as Tory Nichols
Griffin Santopietro as Anthony LaRusso
Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne
Yuji Okumoto as Chozen
Oona O’Brien as Devon
Alicia Hannah-Kim as Kim Da-Eun

Many of the supporting cast members are likely to return for the sixth season as well. We cannot guarantee that Thomas Ian Griffith will reprise his role following Terry Silver’s arrest.

When can we expect Cobra Kai season 6 to be released on Netflix?

Three seasons of Cobra Kai have been released on Netflix in the last twenty months, beginning with season 3 in January 2021 and ending with the fifth season in September 2022. While Netflix subscribers have grown accustomed to seeing new seasons of Cobra Kai on a semi-regular basis, the wait for a sixth season may be the longest yet.
For starters, Netflix has yet to renew Cobra Kai for a sixth season, and the showrunners have been working on Obliterated, their brand new Netflix project, which isn’t expected to wrap until November 2022. This means that even if Cobra Kai is renewed, we won’t see any filming until 2023. This also means that Cobra Kai may not return until late 2023, or a more realistic release date in 2024.
