There are dangerous games afoot in a tropical paradise in the first trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

After teasing the Knives Out sequel with a first-look photo, writer-director Rian Johnson’s Agatha Christie-inspired follow-up released its first significant footage on Thursday. The film teases the return of Daniel Craig’s Detective Benoit Blanc, who journeys to Greece to solve a case involving a brand-new colorful ensemble of suspects played by some of Hollywood’s biggest personalities.

Glass Onion’s minute-and-a-half-long trailer teases a more tropical whodunit in contrast to its darkly forested, old-money house mystery predecessor, in which the movie’s colorful group of individuals join up for a boat to an island retreat where everyone is a suspect.

Along with Dave Bautista brandishing a gun, Janelle Monáe shattering a glass, Kathryn Hahn looking completely horrified, and Kate Hudson pushing her hip.

Johnson went into detail about what draws him and viewers to the genre in an interview with Netflix’s Tulum.

It’s a roller coaster and not a crossword puzzle, I kept saying when discussing the first movie, recalls Johnson. It’s a typical error in writing whodunits to believe that you’re creating a crossword puzzle and that the joy is in watching the audience try to decipher it all. About a third of the way through a whodunit, whether I’m reading it or watching it, I always stop trying to figure it out.

Craig, Hudson, Monáe, Bautista, Hahn, Edward Norton, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline make up the whole cast of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Johnson and Ram Bergman are the producers.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will debut on Netflix worldwide on December 23 and in a few cinemas at a later time.
