Virgin River has consistently been one of Netflix’s most popular series. The fifth season of Virgin River is currently filming in British Columbia, Canada. Virgin River will be available on Netflix in 2023. Virgin River debuted on Netflix in December 2019 and has since become one of the streaming service’s biggest hits. Fans all over the world enjoy the romantic drama starring Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, and Jenny Cooper.

So many questions were answered and so many more were raised in the fourth season of the popular Netflix series. Everything leads up to Virgin River season 5, which is currently in production. The cast and crew have been dropping hints about what to expect, and Alexandra Breckenridge just informed us that we might need some tissues. Breckenridge, who plays Mel Monroe, revealed some details in a new interview, and while she didn’t reveal specific story spoilers for season 5, we’re inclined to batten down the hatches for a super-emotional season and the best one yet!

Alexandra Breckenridge talks from the set of Virgin River season 5 in an interview with NewBeauty about her previous work on shows like American Horror Story and This Is Us. The actress expresses her excitement for the upcoming season, emphasising the “high sense of drama.” She said, “I think this season has started out well and we’re getting into a few episodes soon that are pretty heavy. They’re really intense and I think that they’re some of the best episodes we’ve ever done. I never say that either! I think that there’s a high sense of drama that starts to come up this season that it’s going to leave people on the edge of their seats. At least, I hope. I’m excited to get into that.”

Whether it’s the death of a beloved character or impactful and personal storylines, Virgin River has always had its share of emotionally charged episodes. However, Breckenridge’s hint that season 5 will feature “some of the best episodes [they’ve] ever done” suggests that we’ll be delving even deeper into the characters we’ve grown to love. In season 4, Mel and Jack struggled with Mel’s baby’s paternity. They later learn that Jack, not her late husband Mark, is the father. Furthermore, the couple gets engaged, though their happiness may be shattered by a new business deal that goes wrong.

The highly emotional episodes could be related to Mel and Jack’s various conflicts, but there are additional characters who will embark on complex journeys in season 5. Brie confronted her abusive ex, Denny revealed his terminal illness, and Preacher continued his battle with Vince with Paige. We were already as excited as we could be for Virgin River season 5, but Alexandra Breckenridge telling us that the upcoming season will feature the best episodes yet heightened our excitement even more.
