Although the MCU is one of the greatest brands in Hollywood, the series has not yet made it to the actual location where on-screen movie magic is created. All of that could soon change as the Wonder Man series for Disney+ moves through the development stage.
Marvel Studios has so far captivated fans throughout the world and beyond with its blockbuster films and innovative streaming shows, but Hollywood, or the City of Stars, has mostly been absent from the super-powered franchise. Although She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which is now showing on Disney+, is set in Los Angeles, it has not yet addressed Hollywood.
That’s about to change, though, as the new Wonder Man film is going to give viewers a tour of Hollywood.
Hollywood in The MCU
Hollywood will serve as the setting for the new Wonder Man MCU series, according to Borys Kit of the Hollywood Reporter. According to Kit, the programme “is allegedly located in Hollywood.”
According to rumors, this won’t be the only MCU movie to take on Hollywood; Drax was spotted in a LA neighborhood while filming for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, but nothing has yet been released.
Wonder Man is heading where?
It certainly makes a lot of sense that the series is set in the City of Stars, especially because Trevor Slattery is expected to make another appearance in the future Wonder Man production. Add to it the fact that Wonder Man appears in comic books as an actor, and Hollywood seems like the obvious location for such a program.
What, though, would this Hollywood location entail for the Marvel Studios streaming project? The title will probably take a meta dive into a part of the MCU that hasn’t been covered before (apart from a brief detour into Bollywood in last year’s Eternals) because its eponymous hero is so immersed in the film industry.
Additionally, this scene may be where viewers next see Brett Goldstein’s Hercules, who made his acting debut in Thor: Love and Thunder. On the written page, Wonder Man employs the legendary figure (and occasionally an Avenger) to launch his acting career. So, if the show were to correctly adapt this origin, it would very certainly result in a Hercules appearance.
