Everything We Know So Far About Season 2 of Sweet Home on Netflix

Sweet Home

Sweet Home’s Netflix debut was an exhilarating and bloody one. Despite this, it took Netflix 18 months to formally announce that season 2 is currently in production. Along with the announcement of season 2, Netflix also made a third of Sweet Home’s release date known. Here is everything we currently know about Netflix’s Sweet Home season 2.
Based on the Yongchan Hwang webtoon comic of the same name, the Netflix Original horror K-Drama series Sweet Home is a terrifying story. The show is created by Studio Dragon, the team behind hit K-Dramas like My Holo Love, Love Alarm, Arthdal Chronicles, and Crash Landing on You.

Renewal Status of Sweet Home Season 2 on Netflix

Sweet Home has been on Netflix for eighteen months, and the streamer has finally confirmed that it will return for a second season, which is currently in production. We previously reported in March 2022 that several images on Song Kang’s manager’s Instagram page confirmed renewal. There was some debate about the image’s legitimacy, but that is no longer relevant because the series will be returning.
Sweet Home has also been renewed for a third season, which will please fans.

“Seasons 2&3 are now in production,” according to the video description. This strongly suggests that filming for both seasons could take place back to back, with a short break in between.

How well did Sweet Home do?

The popularity of an Original can have a significant impact on how long it takes Netflix to renew a series. As Sweet Home demonstrates, it can take Netflix several weeks, if not months, to announce a renewal. Sweet Home performed well on Netflix in its first month of release, breaking into at least 32 different top t0 lists around the world. Sweet Home, in particular, ranked first on Netflix in South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The series has made it into the top ten in the United States. Sweet Home reaching the top ten in the United States would have greatly increased the series’ chances of being renewed.

Sweet Home Season 2 Cast Announcement

BIBI (Kim Hyung-seo), an actress and K-Pop artist, has been confirmed to star in the second season of Sweet Home, but it is unclear whether she will play a leading role, a supporting role, or make a guest appearance in an episode.

Sweet Home season 2 premiere date on Netflix

With production now officially confirmed, we can speculate on when season 2 will be available on Netflix. Season 1 filming lasted eight months, from June 2019 to February 2020. If we assume that production has only just begun in June 2022, then filming may not be completed until February 2023. However, this means that we may have to wait until December 2023 to see Sweet Home return.
