The Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd claimed he had lost his voice and didn’t feel he could deliver the show that fans paid for, which caused his Saturday night performance at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium to end abruptly. The Weeknd left the stage in the middle of the song. Before the lights came on, the first song ended and another one began. The performer returned to the stage and apologised for having to cancel, claiming that he had lost his voice.

The artist performed for about fifteen minutes following the teaser, but he then said that he would have to postpone the performance. According to Variety, The Weeknd addressed the crowd and stated, The Weeknd, “I don’t know what just happened…but I just lost my voice, this is killing me I don’t want to stop the show but I can’t give you the concert I want to give you right now.”

The Weeknd added that he wanted to apologize personally, rather than tweet or Instagram it. “I can’t give you what I want to give you,” he said. Later, The Weeknd issued the following statement, “My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”

Despite this, The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears, which peaked at number one on the 2021 Billboard Hot 100 list, was being sung along to by the pop star’s supporters as they exited SoFi Stadium. To commemorate the much anticipated tour, the Los Angeles stop was associated with Postmates and Monty’s Good Burger. A portion of the money collected was given to the XO Humanitarian Fund.
