Timothée Chalamet has established himself as one of the most promising young performers of his age over the last several years. The standout star has demonstrated boldness and willingness to push and diversify himself, especially while working with some of our most renowned directors, as evidenced by his dynamic leadership and supporting roles in Lady Bird, Little Women, The French Dispatch, Beautiful Boy, and Dune, to name just a few. However, his most notable performance is still his Oscar-nominated turn in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name. Now, the actor and director are teaming up again for Bones and All, which might be an even more bold and uncompromising picture than their previous effort. Undoubtedly, the first official clip gives viewers a stinging preview.

In A Recent "Bones And All" Clip, Timothee Chalamet Bares All 2

As shown in this first official trailer for the movie, which was unveiled by MGM Studios, we’re given a taste of what Lee (Chalamet) felt the first time he participated in an atrocious deed. The movie follows a young woman named Maren (Taylor Russell), who lives outside of society and meets a cannibal drifter, although it isn’t implied in the trailer. The 2015 YA novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, which follows two teenage lovers who find a mutual connection in their pleasure of eating flesh, served as the inspiration for Guadagnino’s most recent film. However, the marketing has been a little cagey about sharing these elements.

Although there are no explicit references to cannibalism in this recently released footage, it is simple to assume that it is taking place, especially given that Chalamet’s Lee describes how he felt like a “strange new superhero” when he first gave in to his animalistic urges. Thus, a curious Maren is interested in learning more about this young man’s thoughts and emotions, especially after the act was completed. Such responses will have to wait till later.

It’s simple to understand how Chalamet may succeed in what could appear to be an unworthy character given that he frequently plays moody, wayward young men, especially ones who don’t necessarily fit into mainstream society for various reasons. This new film, which will have its world debut at the Venice Film Festival, will undoubtedly demonstrate the actor’s willingness to take chances and push both himself and his audience.
