House of the Dragon chronicles the fight for succession in the House Targaryen and is set around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. In the HBO series, Alicent Hightower is portrayed as a young woman by Emily Carey and as an adult by Olivia Cooke.

Since Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy played the younger and older incarnations of Rhaenyra Targaryen, respectively, Emily recently revealed how she and Olivia handled the same role in different ways. She even admitted that the two actors and actresses didn’t discuss Alicent Hightower.

On The Official Game of Thrones Podcast from HBO, Emily remarked, “We were warned not to discuss the role or the character with Olivia, Emma, or Milly because it would seem that we were portraying entirely different people. You know, ten years is a fairly long time. They had a lot of growing up to do as you see them go from virtually being children into mature ladies, so yes, they treated us differently.”

Gal Gadot, who will co-star with Alia Bhatt in the spy thriller Heart Of Stone, plays the adult superhero role, while the 19-year-old actress Emily played the younger version of Diana Prince, or Wonder Woman, in the 2017 Hollywood picture.

The show’s main characters are played by Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, and Graham McTavish in addition to the four actresses mentioned above, Emily, Olivia, Milly, and Emma. The show is based on the fantasy novel Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin, who also serves as co-creator with Ryan Condal.

The weekly television program House of the Dragon has so far debuted two episodes. The program, which is available on Disney+, has already received a second season renewal.
