What We Know So Far About the Netflix Movie Mr. Harrigan’s Phone

Mr. Harrigans Phone

Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum are collaborating with Netflix on a feature adaptation of Stephen King’s short story Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. Following Gerald’s Game, 1922, and In the Tall Grass, it will be Netflix’s fourth King project. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone will be written and directed by John Lee Hancock, the director of The Blind Side and Saving Mr. Banks. John Lee Hancock also contributed to The Highwaymen, one of Netflix’s most underappreciated gems.

Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is one of many projects in the works for Ryan Murphy at Netflix as part of his overall contract with the streaming service. Murphy will serve as the film’s producer. Ryan Murphy Productions, Blumhouse Productions, and Paper Pictures are all involved. Carla Hacken, Murphy, and Blum will co-produce, with Blumhouse Television’s Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold exec producing.
Here’s everything else we know about Mr. Harrigan’s Phone on Netflix:

What is the storyline of Mr. Harrigan’s Phone?

The plot is based on Stephen King’s New York Times best-selling collection If It Bleeds, and it follows a young boy who befriends an older billionaire who lives in his small-town neighbourhood. They become friends over the man’s first iPhone. When the man dies, the boy realises that not everything dead is gone, and he discovers that he can communicate with his friend from the grave by leaving voicemails on the iPhone that was buried with him.

In Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, who is cast?

Projects by Ryan Murphy frequently feature well-known actors and faces. But Mr. Harrigan’s Phone’s cast is different from his usual lineup. These actors have had little to no screen time in prior Murphy-related films and television productions.
Actress Kirby Howell-Baptiste is rising in popularity and demand. She recently portrayed Death in the incredible Netflix series The Sandman and provided the voice of Dr. Mae Turner in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ fourth and fifth seasons. The Good Place, Veronica Mars, and Killing Eve all featured Howell-Baptiste in supporting roles.

Horror movie fans will recognise Jaeden Martell right away as the young Bill Denbrough from the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Since then, he has appeared in films like Rian Johnson’s Knives Out and Netflix’s Metal Lords, where he played Kevin. The patriarch of the Sutherland family, Donald Sutherland, is debuting on Netflix. The seasoned Canadian actor has been performing since the 1960s, but for modern audiences, his most well-known role is that of President Snow in the The Hunger Games series.
