Hawkins, Indiana, home to several terrible supernatural occurrences due to its numerous gates connecting it to the unsettling other reality known as the Upside Down, was introduced to viewers once again in Season 4’s opening moments.
Season 4 of Stranger Things had a variety of surprising and tragic revelations, but Vecna, the new season’s main antagonist, was at the show’s center. The horrible humanoid character, played by Bower, followed his victims, entering their brains and murdering them horribly to break down the wall separating the actual world from the Upside Down, where he lives. In the thrilling conclusion to Season 4, Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven faced off against Vecna. She and her companions had broken the pattern of Vecna’s murders by assaulting him, but as the episode’s closing minutes showed, they had not completely exiled him.
Bower recently sat down with NME to talk about his memorable entry into the popular sci-fi series and foreshadowed Hawkins’ future after that tragic conclusion. In response to the season 4 finale, the actor claimed that Vecna is “pissed” and “fully annoyed,” adding that he thinks Vecna is now only “rebuilding.” The gang had “made a tremendous mistake,” Bower added, giving a foreboding hint as to what’s to follow.
Bower has provided several insights on his development of Vecna in the wake of the premiere of Stranger Things season 4, covering everything from the vocal performance to the significant daily shift that portraying the character required. Since the events of Stranger Things season, 4 were still fresh in viewers’ minds, many fans were thrilled to learn that season 5 had begun writing after the writers’ room published an intriguing BTS image. Season 5 of Stranger Things has not yet been given a specific release date, but the show’s creators have stated that viewers may anticipate it to be shorter than season 4.
