Mark your calendars on September 8 if you’re one of those people who misses Obi-Wan Kenobi more than normal. On that day, as part of the long-awaited Disney+ Day, a brand-new behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Obi-Wan Kenobi called Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return will make its streaming service premiere.
Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Moses Ingram (Third sister/Reva Sevander), and Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) together with director and showrunner Deborah Chow may be seen discussing the process of eventually bringing the narrative to life in the documentary’s teaser. You might be excused for believing A Jedi’s Return was another short film, bonus episode, or Season 2 announcement considering that The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett both included extras under the heading of “Disney Gallery.” Hope always comes true. However, considering that viewers have been anticipating the release of this documentary since the series concluded in June, Disney’s decision to release it on the big screen on the day designated for their streaming service makes sense.
