For All Mankind has been renewed for season 4, it was announced at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in July. The Season 3 conclusion of the Apple TV+ sci-fi show featured some of its most shocking shocks ever, and it appears like Season 4 will expand on some of the season’s most important themes. The first three seasons of For All Mankind are streaming now on Apple TV+, while the fourth season has officially been ordered and is tentatively set to arrive next year.

With a bomb that kills numerous series regulars and reduces NASA headquarters to little more than a smouldering crater, while a group of astronauts are still stranded on the surface of the Red Planet, the season finale upended the entire series. Fade to black, and we’re in the year 2000. Here, we learn that NASA director Margo Madison (Wrenn Schmidt), who had been tricked by the KGB into disclosing American secrets, had survived the bombing and had used it as a pretext to flee to Russia.

A image of the outside of a cast trailer with the names Danielle Poole and Ed Baldwin written on either side was uploaded on Twitter by Commander Danielle Poole’s on-screen counterpart, Krys Marshall, on August 23. “Hi Bob. #ForAllMankind #Season4,” she wrote in the caption of the picture, appearing to confirm that not only are there actors on set, but also that both her character and Ed would be back in Season 4.

Margo Madison (Wrenn Schmidt), who appeared in the season finale’s flash-forward to the next decade, is the only other character whose return has so far been officially announced. She made reference in her caption to a running joke between the two characters that dates back to the first season. Gordo Stevens, played by Michael Dorman, was also informed about this.
