HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ Episode 2: Preview

House of the Dragon Episode 2 Release Date and Time

Last night, Game of Thrones viewers were welcomed back to Westeros with the launch of House of the Dragon on HBO and HBO Max. The series exposes us to the Targaryens at their apex and is set 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen is born. The issue of who will succeed King Viserys I on the Iron Throne when he inevitably passes away is the sole issue that the Targaryens are currently facing, aside from annoying back sores associated with the Iron Throne. Will his misbehaving brother Daemon be responsible? Rhaenyra, your spirited daughter? Or perhaps a male heir Viserys had imagined?

House of the Dragon will be consumed with the issue of succession, and HBO has hinted as much in its “Weeks Ahead” promo. HBO released a teaser for the whole first season rather than a House of the Dragon Episode 2 advertisement. As you may expect, there is a lot of fire, blood, and dragons. However, if you carefully examine each frame, you’ll see some significant spoilers for what’s to come.

What is Shown in The House of the Dragon Episode 2 Teaser Trailer?

The House of the Dragon’s first season’s remaining episodes are heavily represented in the two minutes, 13-second-long trailer. The film opens with a scene of Rhaenyra aboard Syrax arriving at Dragonstone, shocking Otto Hightower and his soldiers (Rhys Ifans). Young Rhaenyra’s voiceover is heard. Then, several sinister sights of fleeing servants, a person “Free Solo-ing,” and shadowy shadows appear. “From my blood come the prince that was foretold, and he will be the song of ice and fire,” the child Rhaenyra says in voiceover.

The next images include a supercut of a man standing in a cave with fire behind him, a carriage making its way to a crumbling castle (which may be Harrenhal? ), Corlys Velaryon looking nervous, young Alicent, and an unidentified individual. Viserys takes over for the voiceover as we switch to a scene of Rhaenyra at sea with a dragon by her side. Viserys asserts that the importance of this knowledge outweighs the throne. As Viserys continues, “It is greater than you,” we first see two individuals on a seashore before an elder Rhaenyra enters the picture.

Men will sooner destroy the country than witness a woman take the Iron Throne, Rhaenys declares as we watch Daemon and Otto square off at Dragonstone. She is addressing the young Rhaenyra with this. The elder Rhaenyra declares, “I shall be the queen of the Seven Kingdoms,” while there is a supercut of the royal godswood, some type of council gathering, and a man nailing another guy to some driftwood. As Alicent responds, “You may do as you like when I am cold in my tomb,” we see elder versions of Rhaenyra and Alicent.

Towards this time, the famous catspaw dagger-wielding Alicent makes a lunge at Rhaenyra in the sequence that has been replayed in the trailers. Daemon then appears with Rhaenyra and says, “Dreams didn’t make us kings; Dragons did,” as seen in prior previews. The scene cuts to a dragon hovering over King’s Landing, Criston Cole sporting a knightly aspect, and Rhaenyra reaching for the catspaw knife as the elder Alicent utters

As we witness Rhaenyra ride a horse aggressively through the woods, Otto Hightower enters the scene and tells an elderly Alicent, “No ruler has ever lived that hasn’t had to lose the lives of a few to secure the many.” The destruction on a beach is then seen in the trailer. A close-up shot shows crabs scuttling toward what seems to be a dead hand.

Viserys is then yelling at a Daemon with short hair in front of the Iron Throne. You are no conqueror, Viserys shouts as he plunges the blade into Daemon’s neck. You are a nuisance. The next scene shows Rhaenyra dancing at a lavish feast. “Our households are united by a single purpose,” Corlys declares. A guy and a pregnant lady are shown standing in front of a campfire, blood is seen running down a pair of gripped hands, and we catch a brief glimpse of some kids (whom we’ll come to).

A dragon howling, Rhaenrya riding a dragon, someone stabbing something, and a battered Daemon gazing at what appears to be a war scene follows. There will be blood, Daemon adds in the voice-over. The next scene has a supercut of dragons flying, men notching arrows, dragon and sword fights, a terrifying man wearing a mask, and a gigantic dragon soaring.
