The official date for the Hulu’s linited Welcome to Chippendales has been disclosed. Originally known as Immigrant, the true crime epic limited series, starring Kumail Nanjiani, examines the wacky beginnings of the exotic male stripper business and its India-born founder Somen “Steve” Banerjee. The series is set to debut on Hulu on November 22 exactly three months from now.

The series blends the goofy side that Chippendales is renowned for with the darker, more strange true crime components that lurk in the background. Weeks after the show’s debut, new episodes will be available to stream. The previous title of the show made reference to Banerjee, the protagonist who unexpectedly rose to become the head of the biggest male stripping empire in the world. In search of success in the United States, Banerjee travelled from India.

Banerjee made a little money running his Playa del Rey Mobil station and reinvested it in an unappealing Hollywood bar in the hopes of turning it into something extraordinary. Aside from the weekly male-only revue, he changed the club’s name to Chippendales and made practically all of the necessary changes. The popularity of Chippendales skyrocketed after they introduced the male dancers who performed shirtless up to the cuff and collar, but not without controversies, brutality, and an astonishing fall.

The series has an All-Star cast that includes Nanjiani, who just made an appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as The White Lotus breakout star Murray Bartlett, who plays Banerjee’s cunning and charismatic business partner Nick De Noia opposite Juliette Lewis and Annaleigh Ashford. A plethora of guest stars, including regulars Quentin Plair, Robin de Jess, and Andrew Rannells along with Nicola Peltz Beckham and Dan Stevens, are all planned to feature in the series.

Welcome to Chippendales was conceived by Robert Siegel, who also serves as executive producer alongside Nanjiani and Dylan Sellers, Jenni Konner, Matt Shakman, Emily V. Gordon, Nora Silver, and Rajiv Joseph, the series’ writer. Welcome to Chippendales will really be released on November 22 earlier than anticipated. All signs pointed to the series debuting in 2023, but the new premiere date suggests we might be able to watch some episodes of the limited series in the coming months.
