Even though the Nathan Drake tale in the Uncharted movie was wholly new, there were still a lot of Easter eggs and scenes that PlayStation game enthusiasts would recognize. There are five games in the Uncharted series by Naughty Dog, comprising four consecutive titles that center on Nathan Drake and one extra spin-off game that mostly focuses on one of Drake’s crime-fighting allies, Chloe Frazer. Despite concentrating on Nathan Drake’s life before the events of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the Uncharted movie undoubtedly took some of its inspiration from the spectacular action-packed scenes in the Uncharted games.

Tom Holland plays the notorious Nathan Drake in the film Uncharted, while Mark Wahlberg plays his hesitant companion and fellow treasure hunter Victor Sullivan (aka Sully). In the Uncharted film, Sully enlists the aid of a young Nathan to assist him to find Ferdinand Magellan’s wealth, which was misplaced more than 500 years ago by The House of Moncada. The fact that this is Nathan’s first actual treasure-hunting trip and that he is clearly inexperienced throughout the film gives this installment of the Uncharted film series the sense of more of an origin tale than anything else. For instance, Chloe’s (Sophia Ali) first encounter with Nathan isn’t depicted in the games, but their relationship is the same in the movie version.

The Uncharted movie succeeded well by selecting a completely different plot to launch its brand with, even while it draws inspiration from the videogames and keeps the same mood, sense of danger, and sense of fun. In this sense, the narrative of the film is distinct from that of the Uncharted video games, allowing for alterations that will keep viewers interested in seeing how this younger version of Nathan Drake develops into the character they have come to know and love from the Uncharted video games. The movie undoubtedly drew influence from numerous well-known scenes in the video games, with one scene even being taken verbatim from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, in order to make sure that viewers would still identify its Uncharted adaption. Here are all of the Uncharted movie’s scenes that are recognized from the Naughty Dog video games.

Nathan Drake is shown hanging upside down in midair in the opening scene of the Uncharted movie, only being kept there by the fact that his foot is caught in the cargo container’s netting. This scene is directly lifted from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, in which Nathan uses a variety of cargo containers to ascend back to an aircraft while dodging and combating the villain’s goons.

In contrast to the video games, the Uncharted movie explores Nate’s elder brother Sam Drake considerably earlier. In actuality, the film depicts a much younger Nathan (Tiernan Jones) and a teenage Sam (Rudy Pankow) sneaking out of the orphanage and breaking into a museum to steal a globe map created following Magellan’s unsuccessful mission. This occurs after the opening tease of the cargo aircraft scenario. Unfortunately, they are discovered, and Nathan and Sam are separated against their will.
