Dwayne Johnson Announces Plans for Black Adam Spin-Offs

Black Adam 1

The “objective is to truly extend the world,” according to Dwayne Johnson in an interview with Total Film, and “we’re already looking forward” in terms of preparing spin-off movies for certain Black Adam characters. Black Adam will also contain the Justice Society of America, which features Johnson as the movie’s anti-hero and Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. We want to be able to expand out the world as much as we can, Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia said, echoing Johnson’s remarks. Garcia even hinted at future “crossovers”. Despite popular belief, Johnson has goals outside the DCU. In addition, the actor expressed his desire for a future Marvel and DC crossover, saying, “They should, in my thinking, cross paths one day.”

Who is aware of the plans The Rock has for the DCU?

Johnson and his team’s strategy is something the DC Universe has been lacking for a while, and it’s encouraging to hear that someone who is actively involved artistically is also in charge and is obviously confident in their ideas.

The issue is that supporters are unsure of how seriously to take this.

Again, neither Johnson nor the studio has revealed which DC Comics universe Black Adam is set in or whether the property will continue to be a part of CEO David Zaslav’s plans for the DCU in the future.

Johnson’s assurance that both the movie and his supporting actors can succeed in the main parts, though, is comforting. It implies that there are several good reasons to see this much-anticipated superhero movie. And if Warner Bros. Discovery is keeping an eye on them to see whether they live up to the actor’s hype and if this movie might be the starting point for a new planned universe?

While all is going on, it’s still unclear if Black Adam will actually be the one to upend the DCEU or if CEO David Zaslav did it first.

On October 21, Black Adam will open in theatres all around the world.

Black Adam spin-off films are already in the planning stages

What will the DCU look like in 10 years? It’s one of the most pressing inquiries in Hollywood right now. It may also be a mystery to Warner Bros. Discovery’s new leadership because they haven’t made public the specifics of their ten-year strategy. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, executive producer and star of the forthcoming DC movie Black Adam, is the only one who seems to have a solution.

Timing has proven to be Black Adam’s biggest enemy thus far. The Dwayne Johnson-starring movie was stuck in pre-production hell for years, and when it was finally ready for release, the Warner Bros. Discovery merger cast doubt on the future of the already confusing DCEU.

While certain movies on the studio schedule, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods and (maybe) The Flash, is progressing, it doesn’t necessarily follow that their stories and characters will continue in the franchise.

Johnson has maintained throughout it all that Black Adam will upset the DC Universe’s power structure and has even hinted at the beginning of a “new era.”

But it’s unclear if the actor is talking to the existing world or one that is already ending; in addition, as we approach this ostensibly important movie, he’s simultaneously hinting ideas for spin-offs.
