In her most recent music video for her tune “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready),” Lizzo is determining whether she is ready for love. The latest music video for the number-one artist’s new song from her album Special has been released. Following their collaboration on her last hit, About Damn Time, Lizzo teamed up with Christian Breslauer as co-director on the video.

Her most recent music video is a follow-up to Truth Hurts, in which she marries her own double in a religious ceremony. In the most recent video, Lizzo can be seen fleeing the alter while dressed to the nines and leaving her duplicate behind. As she flees, the singer receives a call from her “Feyoncé,” but she chooses not to answer it. She eventually decides to go to the desert, where she eventually encounters a broken engine and is saved by a hunched-over Tyson Beckford on his motorcycle. The relationship quickly proves to be nothing more than a sandy illusion, leaving Lizzo with her bridesmaids.

Lizzo recreates her “Truth Hurts” visual’s scenario of her walking down the aisle in the opening of the video before she questions the wisdom of getting married to herself. To the surprise of the audience, the artist then completely skips the ceremony. After leaving the scene in a red automobile, Lizzo pulls over after spotting a handsome man on a motorcycle. Before Lizzo leans in for a kiss, the two exchange hugs and share a tender moment. However, it turns out that the guy was only an illusion, and she was actually making out with a tree.

According to ET, the music video ends with the girls having a blast in the desert and throwing a party in no time. “Yesterday, I would have run away / And I don’t know why (Did you know?) / I don’t know why, but I’m ready.” As a follow-up to her previous album Cuz I Love You, which was published in 2019, Lizzo’s album Special was released last month. Since then, the singer has attained her highest level of notoriety thanks to the success of her track About Damn Time on the charts and on social media.
