Yes, it has been known for a while that Ozark won’t come back for a fifth season. In June 2020, Netflix said that the American crime drama would finish after four seasons.

The fourth and final season, which will consist of 14 episodes split into two halves, will be a “supersized” season, according to the streaming service.

Part 1 of Ozark Season 4 was made available on January 21, 2022, while Part 2 made its Netflix debut on April 29, 2022. “We’re very thrilled Netflix recognized the necessity of giving Ozark additional time to resolve the Byrdes’ tale appropriately,” said showrunner Chris Mundy. Mundy explains that he wanted an early warning before canceling the show in another interview with The Daily Beast.  Netflix is the one who came up with the notion of having four seasons, but with a lengthier order, with the intention always being that it would split.

They seem to like letting things run naturally and for the appropriate length of time, in my opinion. In terms of creativity, I know that we didn’t anticipate it lasting past five. It felt like somewhere in that four to the five-season range was sort of appropriate because we knew where we wanted to conclude it, at least emotionally; we didn’t know all the practicalities of it. Fans, however, are still unable to accept this and continue to want a movie or spin-off series based on the show. In fact, Mundy stated that it should not be ruled out that there may be a spinoff: “It’s obviously something that people have spoken about a lot. There is no firm evidence. We’re fortunate that people seem to genuinely enjoy the program, so there will undoubtedly be some interest.

The Byrde family was still present and accounted for when we last saw them in the epilogue. Additionally, they appear to be clear of all links to the cartel. Mel Satem’s murder by Jonah Byrde (Skylar Gaertner), if there is any chance of a future plot that may be developed, would be it (played by Adam Rothenberg). This may be a possible issue for the Byrde family, and it might be a concept for a later installment of the novel. Ozark won’t be coming back to Netflix any time soon, as of this writing.

As a result of the show’s cancellation, the production team created a send-off video. If you’re a devoted viewer and have been watching the program for a while, get a bucket ready for your tears.
