The Geralt of Rivia is back in action on Season 3 sets of Netflix’s The Witcher series, according to Redanian Intelligence, a website dedicated to providing information on the show. The production unexpectedly stopped on July 25 after it was revealed that the film’s primary actor, Henry Cavill, had tested positive for COVID.

Cavill plays the monster-hunting mutant for two seasons, the first of which debuted on the streaming service in 2019. Geralt rarely has a dull moment, whether he’s fighting a Striga or Djinn, debating his feelings for Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), or going on adventures with Jaskier (Joey Batey). But Cavill enthusiastically embraced the part and even insisted on pulling off his own stunts.

Geralt’s position on the politics of the Continent will change this season as kings and creatures prepare to pursue Ciri. We learned at the end of Season 2 that Duny, a.k.a. Emhyr Var Emreis, the ruler of Nilfgaard, is the White Flame. Yeneffer and Geralt will visit Aretuza later on in the season to learn the full range of Ciri’s abilities. Finally, fans will be able to get a close-up view of how the three interact as a family.

In addition, The Witcher is now filming Thanedd coup, its most ambitious sequence, which depicts an attack between mages during one of their conclaves in the Aretuza academy. Nearly the entire series’ cast as well as the new ones will appear in the lengthy segment. The occasion is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt, the second instalment of the epic and the fourth Witcher book, which caused the Brotherhood of Sorcerers to dissolve.
