For the first time since the Oscars slap incident earlier this year, when the actor struck presenter Chris Rock on stage, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were seen together. According to Just Jared, Will and Jada were recently photographed together outside a well-known restaurant on Saturday in Malibu.
In a happy mood and beaming, the Oscar-winning actor was observed waving goodbye to his wife on Saturday after they had lunch at Nobu. Smith wore an all-navy blue outfit with a baseball cap, and Jada sported a black blouse with a plaid shirt tied around her waist. The couple was seen together in casual clothing. Since the Oscars incident, the couple has avoided the spotlight and hasn’t been seen out together in particular.
Will apologised for his behaviour at the Academy Awards in a video he posted last month, and he also addressed whether he has spoken to Chris Rock about the situation since then. Smith added that she shared the moving video on YouTube. Will said, “I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk. I want to apologize to Chris‘ mother. I saw an interview that Chris‘ mother did. That was one of the things about that moment, I just didn’t realize and I wasn’t thinking about how many people got hurt in that moment.”
