In the coming months, the sixth season of Rick and Morty will begin airing in the US. Most of the rest of the globe will be able to watch it on Netflix. Here is the approximate release date for Rick and Morty season 6 on Netflix outside of the United States.
Starting on September 4th, 2022, the new show premieres on Adult Swim for its sixth season. As you may be aware, 70 episodes of Rick and Morty were ordered in advance back in 2018, and 50 episodes will likely remain once season 6 ends thanks to this additional season.
At the time of writing, Netflix holds nearly all of the global licencing rights to Rick and Morty. Except for the United States, that is.
The Netflix sitcom Rick and Morty isn’t the easiest to discuss. We’ve seen the show’s rights threatened to leave Netflix. Indeed, numerous locations are anticipated to lose the show in August 2022, as of the time of writing. Having said that, several of these regions no longer display removal notices.
When will Season 6 of Rick and Morty be available on Netflix?
As with past seasons, we don’t expect Rick and Morty to appear on Netflix. This is due to the fact that it is exclusive to AdultSwim and is only available on Hulu and HBO Max.
Although Warner Bros. Discovery has indicated that it may licence more properties to Netflix and others in the future, Rick and Morty are not among them.
Rick and Morty episodes are added to Netflix UK once they have launched and had an exclusive window on Channel 4. Season 5 premiered on E4 in the United Kingdom in June 2021 before moving to Netflix in March 2022. That means Channel 4 had a 6-month exclusive window. Assuming the same holds true for season 6 (we’ll keep this site updated as we discover more), we anticipate the new season will be available on Netflix UK in or around Summer 2023.
Rick and Morty has previously been available on Netflix in the Netherlands, Australia, and a number of other countries. We’re currently waiting for confirmation, but if you’ve previously gotten weekly episodes, you can expect the same from September 2022 forward.
New episodes are released the day after they are shown in the United States (AdultSwim airs Sundays, and Netflix drops on Mondays).
