Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a classic novel from the 18th century by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, is about to premiere on Starz (Dangerous Liaisons). The network has set a debut date for the show and released first-look pictures and a teaser trailer. The network also revealed that the lust-filled romance will premiere on November 6 and that new episodes will air every Sunday after at midnight on the STARZ app.

The trailer opens by giving viewers a glimpse of the background of the main protagonists and lovers Camille (Alice Englert) and Valmont while transporting them to the 18th century. The two’s connection immediately becomes heated, with passions rising and intensity burning. But when Camille works to advance in society after being provided a roof over her head by Marquise de Merteuil (Lesley Manville), their love games only grow shadier and more ominous.

Along with the trailer and the release date information, the production also unveiled a series of images of the main characters dressed to the nines in historical garb. The images show Jacqueline de Montrachet, a noblewoman, and Victoire, Camille’s best friend and ally, as well as the roles played by Englert, Denton, and Manville (Carice Van Houten).

In Dangerous Liaisons, Merteuil and Valmont’s journey is told, illustrating how they started out as young lovers in the ghettos of Paris and progressed through a series of plots, deceptions, and betrayals to reach the pinnacles of French nobility while perpetually fluctuating between love and war. It is produced by the show’s creator, Harriet Warner, in collaboration with Lionsgate TV, Colin Callender’s Playground Entertainment, and Tony Krantz’s Flame Ventures.

The series focuses on the history of how, on the eve of the revolution, the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont met as ardent young lovers in Paris. Lesley Manville and Alice Englert play the current Marquise de Merteuil and Camille, respectively. Camille forges her own path in a world of men, using the power of secrets to regain control, while Valmont will do anything to reclaim the title that was recently taken from him. Fisayo Akinade, Michael McElhatton, Nathanael Saleh, Colette Dalal Tchantcho, Kosar Ali, Carice Van Houten, Hilton Pelser, Hakeem Kae-Kazim and Tom Wlaschiha also star in the series.
