On April 27th, 2021, the Belfast Telegraph reported that filming for The School for Good and Evil had commenced, with shooting taking place at Belfast Harbour Studios.
The School for Good and Evil was produced by Roth Films, which is well known for their work on other live-action fairy tales such as Snow White and the Huntsman, Alice in Wonderland, and Maleficent. Jane Startz Productions is also responsible for the production, while NVIZ is in charge of the special effects and Siam Costumes International is in charge of the props.

The majority of the filming took place in Northern Ireland, where hundreds of extras and crew members lived. Filming was allegedly wrapped for some of the cast by May 2021, with nearly all of the filming completed by early July 2021. By the end of July, filming had officially concluded with the shooting of one final scene.
