Season 2 of the popular Disney+ reboot The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will premiere on September 28. The big name in streaming today revealed the start date for Lauren Graham’s inspirational sports drama’s second.

The beloved series, a follow-up to the legendary Mighty Ducks films from the 1990s, is set in modern-day Minnesota and centres on the Mighty Ducks, a fiercely competitive young hockey team. After regaining the Mighty Ducks team name the previous year, the team with heart and their coach Alex Morrow played by Graham continue the story where the first season left off. The squad has the chance to hone their hockey skills without being constrained by academic obligations because they are participating in a challenging summer hockey programme in California.

Colin Cole, the endearing but determined former NHL player turned coach who oversees the demanding hockey school, is played by Duhamel. The young Ducks are reportedly taken under Cole’s wing in the eagerly anticipated second season. Cole has played hockey his entire life.

For the second season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, executive producers and showrunners Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith will also be back. Along with ABC Signature producing, Graham, Steve Brill, George Heller, Brad Petrigala, Jordan Kerner, and Jon Avnet will all serve as executive producers. On Disney+, Season 1 of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is presently streaming.

Duhamel will join the cast after Emilio Estevez’s unexpected departure as coach Gordon Bombay, it was announced back in January. Estevez insisted that “my exit from the show was due to a myriad of creative differences any other narrative is false” when asked about allegations that his resignation had anything to do with COVID guidelines. Brady Noon, who plays Evan, the son of Alex, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, and DJ Watts are also featured in the show.
