E! has announced a new romantic comedy with the working title Married By Mistake, starring Chloe Bennet, Blair Penner, and Anthony Konechny as reported by Deadline. The project is the first of the network’s six upcoming original romantic comedies.

In Married by Mistake, Riley (Bennet) and Nate (Penner) had a wild night out after learning that their dream job has fallen through, only to wake up married the next morning in Las Vegas. Riley accepts Nate’s invitation to return to Tennessee to assist in saving his family’s business because he has no job prospects there. The appearance of Nate’s ex-girlfriend and his gorgeous older brother complicates Riley’s plans to establish herself in the organisation.

Bennet will portray Riley, an MBA alumna whose life is turned upside down when her ideal job isn’t realised. Penner portrays Nate, her best friend who offers Riley the chance to work for his family firm following their inebriated antics. Nate’s elder, more attractive brother, Rhys Bynam, who recently relocated back to his hometown to assist with the family company as well, is portrayed by Konechny. Riley immediately wins his affection, but things get complicated when he learns that she is married to his younger brother.

The official synopsis is as follows: “Bennet will star as Riley, an MBA grad who, after losing out on her dream job, shares a wild night out with her bestie and classmate, Nate (Penner). Waking up the next morning in Las Vegas, the two discover they accidentally tied the knot during their drunken escapades. Jobless and without much on the horizon, Riley decides to move with Nate back to his Tennessee hometown to help him save his family’s business. But just as she begins making a name for herself in the company, Nate’s ex-girlfriend and handsome older brother Rhys (Konechny)—who takes a liking to Riley—arrive to shake things up. Will the best friends be able to keep up their ruse, or will old and new romances put everything in jeopardy? You’ll have to tune in and find out.

Meg Jackson, who wrote the screenplay for HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, is directing from a script by Mike Rohl. The Motion Picture Corporation of America’s Mick MacKay, Brad Krevoy, Amanda Phillips, and Lorenzo Nardini produced the romantic comedy (MPCA). The executive producers will all be Ivan Hayden, Mike Rohl, and Doran S. Chandler.
