A last-minute live performance by Billie Eilish at Amoeba Hollywood drew sizable numbers of fans. This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of her second studio album, “Happier Than Ever,” and on Friday (Pacific Standard Time), she performed an acoustic performance of songs from the album at her beloved hometown record shop.

Fans packed Amoeba’s new Hollywood branch, according to Variety, to watch the singer perform a four-song set. The singer’s brother, co-tourmate, and co-producer, Finneas, joined her on stage with an acoustic guitar and backing vocals. According to Variety, Eilish departed the stage after performing “TV” from her most recent “Guitar Songs” EP and starting with “Billie Bossa Nova.”

Finally, the album’s title track’s dynamic intensity translated very well into acoustic form, inspiring an enthusiastic crowd chorus that Eilish skillfully led as the set’s last tune. The singer greeted the audience and gave them the most authentic Billie Eilish mic drop conceivable by saying, “And happy ‘Happier Than Ever’ anniversary, bitch.

The one-year anniversary of “Happier Than Ever” also happens to be the 25th birthday of Eilish’s brother, who she thanked for coming out to witness her and Finneas perform between songs. Eilish told the crowd about her thoughts on the anniversary of the album. She said, “You guys are just the best. It’s been the most amazing year, and you’ve been so sweet and respectful about this album, and I just love you!”

In addition to the guests who were invited, 500 tickets were sold for the surprise performance, according to Amoeba staff members who spoke to Variety. This performance venue was very different from the 10,000+ capacity arenas Eilish has been successfully selling out while on tour. Nevertheless, Eilish and Finneas gave the small crowd an enjoyable musical experience by bringing energy, professionalism, and polish to the set.
