Tim Miller disclosed that Netflix is producing his feature-length adaptation of the The Goon comic book under the direction of Love, Death & Robots serial director Patrick Osborne. Logline: An enormous orphan who was reared by his aunt, a powerful woman for a carnival, is the subject of the Goon cartoon. The goon murders the gangster Labrazio after he shoots the aunt, and then he takes over the business.
Miller made a point to get The Goon there because he was satisfied with making Love, Death and Robots at the moment. Miller claimed that Osborn and comic book creator Eric Powell had been collaborating on the plot for The Goon for 12 years.

Miller himself served as a creative supervisor and director on a number of films, including Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Thor: The Dark World, before making his directorial debut with Deadpool in 2016. He worked in visual effects for several video games, including Star Wars: The Old Republic and Mass Effect 2, which both earned him nominations at the Visual Effects Society Awards in 2010 and 2011. Prior to working with the Merc with a Mouth to bring one of Marvel’s most recognisable heroes to the screen, he directed a number of short films.

Miller also created the Netflix series Love, Death + Robots, for which he wrote two episodes and directed two more, and executive produced the two Sonic the Hedgehog movies, both of which went on to enjoy unexpected financial success. After receiving a lot of positive feedback from viewers, the science-fiction anthology series’ director won a Primetime Emmy in 2019 for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program. The show received nominations for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half Hour), Animation, and the same category at this year’s Emmys.
