The upcoming Hulu animated comedy series “Koala Man” has added comedian Demi Lardner and Succession actress Sarah Snook to its cast. Both were revealed on Thursday during the Koala Man panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Vicky, played by Snook, thinks her husband Kevin, a middle-aged father and the somewhat pitiful title character, is only going through a phase. She puts up with Koala Man, a superhero whose main ability is a fierce desire to uphold the law and put an end to mischief in the Australian town of Dapto. Vicky does, however, hold out hope that Kevin would one day recover from his weird midlife crisis and show her the passion she believes is missing.
Kevin’s daughter Alison, who is Liam’s twin, is portrayed by Lardner. Alison is fiercely committed to become the most well-liked student in her class and she has no intention of giving up. To advance in the social hierarchy of the school, the overly gregarious girl makes an effort to remove herself from her family.
The two are the newest actors to join the cast, which also includes Hugh Jackman and Michael Cusack. The series’ title character and his son Liam are two of the many personas that Cusack, the show’s creator and executive producer, voices. Big Greg, the most popular guy in Dapto and the head of the Town Council, is portrayed by Jackman.
The plot of the March 2021 straight-to-series order Koala Man centres on middle-aged dad Kevin and his not-so-secret identity as the titular character, whose main superpower is a strong love for upholding the law and suppressing minor crime in the town of Dapto. Although Dapton may seem like any other suburb in Australia, cosmic and human-made forces of evil are waiting to pounce on unwary Daptonians.
Hugh Jackman, who plays Big Greg, the head of the town council and the most popular person in Dapto, will continue to lead the cast with Snook and Lardner. In addition to others, Cusack, the show’s creator, will voice Kevin and his son Liam. Eight episodes of Koala Man were ordered for March 2021. Cusack will executive produce the show alongside Justin Roiland, Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, and Michael Cowap from Rick and Morty. As showrunners, Hernandez and Samit will collaborate. Koala Man is created by 20th Television Animation for Hulu.
