Anya Taylor-Joy, who is well known for her roles in The Queen’s Gambit and Peaky Blinders, married her lover Malcolm McRae, according to sources. According to numerous rumours, the couple just got married in a small ceremony before Anya departed to Australia to continue filming the Mad Max sequel Furiosa. Since they started dating around a year ago, the couple has kept a low profile and has appeared in public rarely.
The Queen’s Gambit actor fuelled engagement rumours last month when she was spotted wearing a beautiful ring. In Sydney, Taylor-Joy and McRae were seen hanging around while wedding rumours abounded. The couple, who have been dating for more than a year, has kept their relationship quiet. As for the wedding celebrations, it is said that the two will hold one once they return to the US.
Anya has had appearances in well-known shows and movies including Emma and Split in addition to Peaky Blinders and The Queen’s Gambit. Last year, the 26-year-old started dating musician and actor Malcolm. The couple walked the red carpet together for the first time at the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty in March of this year.
According to a report in Page Six, Anya and Malcolm were married “in an intimate courthouse wedding.” The prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa, which also stars Chris Hemsworth, is now being filmed, and the actor got married before flying to Australia to finish shooting, according to the story.
Additionally, Anya revealed details about her relationship with McRae to the general public for the first time in an interview with British Vogue earlier this year. She said, “I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and 7 at the same time, and it works really well.”
Malcolm uploaded a photo of himself and her from the Vanity Fair party on social media, and in the captions, he gushed about his girlfriend, writing, “I’m f*****g proud of this girl.” At the age of 17, Anya made her acting debut in the 2014 comedy-horror film Vampire Academy. She did not appear in the movie’s final version, nevertheless. The following year, she finally made her television debut in the drama series Endeavour. She received praise and honours for her breakout performance in the 2015 period drama/horror film The Witch.
