The release date for Jennifer Lawrence’s upcoming R-rated comedy film has been set. Gene Stupnisky, who most recently oversaw the mystery/adventure Good Boys, is in charge of directing the film with the working title No Hard Feelings. The screenplay was co-written by Stupnisky and John Phillips, who will also serve as executive producer.

Currently, only Lawrence is associated with the project. Along with Alex Saks, Marc Provissiero, and Naomi Odenkirk, the actor will also produce the movie. In October 2021, Sony Pictures won the rights to No Hard Feelings after competing against other studios and large streamers for the film.

The movie’s plot is presently being kept a secret, although Sony has stated that it would be a “R-rated comedy with heart,” despite the fact that this description is still mostly ambiguous. Deadline, which also co-wrote the comedy Bad Teacher, has claimed that the film will instead be a “raunchy” comedy akin to There’s Something About Mary. On June 16, 2023, the newest comedy will be presented in theatres.

However, No Hard Feelings marks Lawrence’s first foray into the world of a hard R-rated comedy similar to Bad Teacher, and it is undoubtedly an interesting addition to the actor’s varied portfolio. No Hard Feelings may be a romantic comedy despite the fact that little is known about the production. Even though the majority of theatrical comedies from major studios are typically rated PG-13, the film’s hard R rating will undoubtedly spark interest. Jennifer Lawrence’s part will probably become more clear in the coming months.
