The complete list of nominees for the 74th Emmy Awards was unveiled today, and Succession, Ted Lasso, and The White Lotus all received at least 20 nods. While the three series will compete for some of this year’s top honours, Succession is the front-runner with an incredible 25 nominations.

Succession, an HBO popular series created by Jesse Armstrong, continued to explore the power struggles of the Roy family in its third season, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The television show centres on Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the chairman of one of the major global media conglomerates. Logan understands he will soon have to retire due to old age, which necessitates that one of his offspring take his position. In order to establish their value to their father, the several Roy children engage in an internal fight, which is explored in the series.

Succession is up for two awards: Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actor. Cox and Jeremy Strong are two of the cast members competing for this honour. The cast of Succession will compete for the Outstanding Supporting Actress award as well, for which J. Smith-Cameron and Sarah Snook were nominated. The fourth season of Succession has just begun filming, and the series’ several Emmy nominations should be sufficient evidence of its success as one of HBO’s top dramas.

Nobody should be surprised that Ted Lasso received a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series in the comedy category. Six separate cast members from the series received nominations for their roles in supporting actors and actresses, including Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, Sarah Niles, and Toheeb Jimoh.

The 74th Emmys will be broadcast live on NBC on Monday, September 12, at 8 p.m. ET. The award ceremony will also be live streamed on Peacock for the first time ever. The White Lotus, which received a nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, completes the list of most nominated shows. Hacks and Only Murders In the Building, both of which have received 17 Emmy nominations this year, are other noteworthy shows.
