A new horror comedy Hell Of A Summer will be co-directed by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and regular partner Billy Bryk. Together with Bryk, Wolfhard co-wrote the story for the movie, which they will both direct and star in.

The film’s plot hasn’t been made public yet; it is currently known as Hell of a Summer. Although Wolfhard will make his feature film directing debut with Hell of a Summer, he has already co-directed and co-written a music video titled Spendtime Palace: Sonora. In 2020, Wolfhard worked alone as both the writer and the director of the short film Night Shifts, which also starred Bryk.

On-screen, Wolfhard has already established an amazing career. His most well-known role on television is Mike Wheeler in the recently released fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Stephen King’s It, adapted by Warner Bros., featured Wolfhard as young Richie Tozier in both chapters. Additionally, Wolfhard starred in the 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife and will play the title role in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio for Netflix later this year.

In a number of films, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Jessie Eisenberg’s When You Finish Saving the World for A24, Bryk co-starred with Wolfhard. Greg Bryk, Bryk’s father, has appeared in a number of projects, including the Saw franchise, therefore he hails from a show business background. Hechinger will portray Dimitri Smerdyakov, AKA Chameleon, in Sony and Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter, Butcher’s Crossing, and Scott Cooper’s The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix. Along with Bateman, Michael Costigan, Drew Brennan, and Jay Van Hoy, Hechinger will also produce the movie.

I, Tonya and All the Money in the World, directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by Ridley Scott, are just two of the successful movies that 30West, who will finance and executive produce the movie, is behind. The movie will also have producers from Parts and Labor and Aggregate Films, Jason Bateman’s production business. In Canada’s Ontario, production is currently scheduled to start later this month.
