Solo Actor Alden Ehrenreich is the most recent actor to sign on for the Marvel series Ironheart. Phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is anticipated to include the series, which will stream on Disney+. The production began filming in Atlanta in June, and it is anticipated that it will go on until October.
Dominique Thorne and Ehrenreich are now part of the cast. Riri Williams, a brilliant inventor who develops a suit of armour that matches Iron Man’s own innovation, will be portrayed by Thorne. The six-part television series is based on the same-named Marvel character. Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 marked Ironheart’s debut since her creation for Marvel Comics in 2016. The MCU’s fourth phase would not be complete without Riri Williams, who fills the void left by Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man’s heroic self-sacrifice in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame.
The 2019 and 2021 Spider-Man movies, which depicted Tony Stark’s protege Peter Parker’s struggle to adapt to a world without his rich playboy master, partially addressed the gap left by the death of Iron Man. Parker isn’t nearly as tech-savvy as Stark, and that’s where Riri Williams comes in. Williams is brilliant, like Stark, and her world has been significantly touched by a super-hero-filled universe, like Parker’s. With that in mind, Williams, aka Ironheart, will provide the now overly crowded MCU a more involved and meta perspective.
Chinaka Hodge is the creator of Ironheart and is also the series’ author. The show also features Anthony Ramos and Harper Anthony in addition to Ehrenreich and Thorne. The six-part streaming series, which will only be available on Disney+, does not yet have a specific release date. It is unknown what role Ehrenreich will play in the future television series.
Ehrenreich previously portrayed Han Solo in the Solo prequel movie to the Star Wars saga. Additionally, he will play Richard Feynman in Christopher Nolan’s eagerly anticipated movie Oppenheimer. Ehrenreich is possibly one of Hollywood’s most underappreciated actors. In films by outstanding directors like the Coen brothers, Francis Ford Coppola, and Sofia Coppola, he has played a number of noteworthy roles.
