According to Deadline, Malcolm Spellman and Eric Haywood’s new one-hour drama Billionaire Class is being developed by Fox. The team behind Fox’s Empire, which starred Taraji P. Henson, is working together once again on this project. The new show will follow the lives of the super-wealthy and appears to make a statement about wealth and inequality.

Written by Haywood, the show is referred to as a high stakes wish-fulfillment drama. The story revolves around Jo, a disillusioned executive assistant to a billionaire who trains street hustler Mike how to swindle her employer’s wealthy pals. The show will also present a nuanced view of inequality, income, and race in America.

For The 51, Haywood, Spellman, Eli Dansky, and Nichelle Tramble Spellman will all serve as executive producers. Together with them, Trevor Engelson through Underground, his regular partner Douglas Banker for Five All in the Fifth, and filmmaker Maurice “Mo” Marable will serve as executive producers (Woke). The show’s co-producer is Ray Smith.

Spellman is an executive producer on the Bel-Air television series. He previously worked for Marvel Studios on the Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan-starring The Falcon and the Winter Soldier television series as executive producer and head writer. Additionally, he is serving as the executive producer of Twin Territories, a new Bass Reeves series that follows the country’s first Black Deputy Marshal on Amazon. The production company behind the Amazon project is Revelations Entertainment, which is owned by Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary.

In the current season of Law & Order: Organized Crime, which stars Christopher Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, Ainsley Seiger, Dylan McDermott, and Nona Parker Johnson in the key roles, Haywood is serving as co-executive producer. The third season of the show, which will debut this fall, has been renewed. He has previously co-executively produced films like Manifest, For Life, and Power. On the Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told, which stars Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul, Kate Hudson, and Lizzy Caplan among others, Nichelle Tramble Spellman serves as executive producer and showrunner.
