Actors Hilary Swank, Olivia Cook, and Jack Reynor will appear in Miles Joris-upcoming Peyrafitte’s film Mother’s Milk as per Variety. The film, dubbed a opioid thriller, centres on a journalist who teams up with her son’s expectant fiancée to track down his killers. Together, they attempt to find those responsible for his death while battling a drug- and corruption-filled underworld in a small upstate New York city. However, they discover a secret that is far more sinister throughout their search.

In a formal statement, Joris-Peyfafitte, whose prior works include Tank Girl, As You Are, winner of the Sundance Special Jury Prize, and Dreamland, starring Margot Robbie, said, “Getting this film made has been a personal dream of mine for six years and assembling a stellar cast like this is more than I ever could have hoped for. I’m so excited to bring this story to life with them and my team of amazing producers.”

The script was co-written by the director and Madison Harrison, with whom they had previously worked on the film As You Are. Produced by Shaun Sanghani of SSS Entertainment, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, and Siena Oberman of Artemis Pictures, the movie recently finished filming in New York. Together with Peter Winther, Brent Stiefel, Lizzie Friedman, Karen Lauder, and Greg Little of Priority Pictures, Swank executive produces the movie.

Swank will next be seen in Alaska, an ABC drama series developed by Tom McCarthy, in addition to Mother’s Milk. Her work on the Lionsgate film Ordinary Angels, in which she co-stars with Alan Ritchson of the Jack Reacher fame, recently came to an end.

Cooke is well recognised for playing Emma Decody in the A&E drama-thriller series Bates Motel and Becky Sharp in the period drama miniseries Vanity Fair. The next time we’ll see her, she’ll be playing the ambitious Alicent Hightower in HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon. Reynor, of Midsommar renown, last appeared with Tom Holland in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Cherry. The Peripheral, a Scott Smith-directed Prime Video production, will feature him next.
