In Peacock’s sci-fi series Mrs. Davis, David Arquette and Elizabeth Marvel are getting ready to battle artificial intelligence. The two are the most recent names to be added to the call sheet, which also includes series regulars Betty Gilpin and Jake McDorman, as well as Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, and Margo Martindale from the supporting ensemble.

Alethea Jones has been brought on board to helm multiple episodes of the project, which is the brainchild of Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory) and Damon Lindelof . The previously mentioned Emmy Award winner, Owen Harris, who is most known for his hand in the critically acclaimed Black Mirror episode “San Junipero,” will collaborate with Jones in her directorial endeavours. They will both executive produce as well.

The plot synopsis does not change, but casting and creative announcements do. There is a lot of space for interpretation given that Mrs. Davis is referred to as “an investigation of faith vs technology an epic war of biblical and binary dimensions.” Gilpin will portray a nun who has had it with AI technology and will, in some fashion, face up against a piece of AI, it is also known. McDorman will also join as Gilpin’s ex, who has his own beef with the equipment.

We are unable to divulge the characters that Arquette and Marvel will be portraying due to the lack of additional narrative information, but given that the two are equally credited, a series about a sharp AI seems about suitable. The most recent film in which Arquette appeared was Scream 5, where viewers said goodbye to his enduring series character, Dewey Riley.
