Following the success of Stranger Things Season 4, Netflix has announced another supernatural project from Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps production business, The Moon Represents My Heart, which will adapt Pim Wangtechawat’s next novel.
Shawn Levy and Gemma Chan, who will also feature in the limited series, devised it. The Moon Represents My Heart will be produced by Levy and Chan, as well as the company’s senior VP Emily Morris, who brought the novel to Netflix.

What is The Moon Represents My Heart’s plot?

As previously noted, Netflix’s The Moon Represents My Heart is based on Pim Wangtechawat’s upcoming novel of the same name. OneWorld Publications plans to distribute the book in Spring 2023. The limited series tells the story of a British-Chinese family who has the secret power to time travel. After their parents disappear, their son and daughter search for them across time as they grow into adults.
Wangtechawat responded to the news on Twitter:

The Moon Represents My Heart’s cast includes who?

Gemma Chan was revealed as the star of Netflix’s The Moon Represents My Heart in July 2022. Eternals, Raya and the Last Dragon, Let Them All Talk, and other films are among Chan’s most recent successes. Chan acknowledged her enthusiasm following the series’ announcement:

What is the current status of The Moon Represents My Heart’s production?

The Moon Represents My Heart is still in active development, which means that the script is presently being written and updated, with pre-production to follow. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more. Netflix hasn’t revealed how many episodes this limited series will have, but six to eight would be a safe bet given Netflix’s current standard.

When will The Moon Represents My Heart be available on Netflix?

Netflix hasn’t disclosed any release dates for The Moon Represents My Heart, but given its early development stage, we can presumably expect it in late 2023 or even 2024.
