Cameron Diaz, a beloved 90s and 2000s movie star, has returned to the big screen after a four-year hiatus. Her upcoming Netflix film, Back in Action, will be an action-comedy featuring Jamie Foxx as well.
Seth Gordon, whose credits include Horrible Bosses, The Goldbergs, Baywatch, and others, will direct the film. He’s also directing episodes of Netflix’s upcoming series The Night Agent. Gordon and Brendan O’Brien co-wrote the script for Back in Action (Neighbors).

The news was announced by star Jamie Foxx, who tweeted a recording of his chat with co-actress Cameron Diaz, who expressed her delight for the project:

Exhibit A is being produced by Beau Bauman (Central Intelligence) and Gordon for Good One Productions, with Foxx, Datari Turner, O’Brien, and Mark McNair serving as executive producers.

In Back in Action, who is cast?

Cameron Diaz, who retired from acting in 2018, is back in action on Netflix. The Mask, Charlie’s Angels, Shrek, There’s Something About Mary, and numerous other films are among Diaz’s many notable film roles.
Jamie Foxx, a co-star with Diaz who has just been in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as the upcoming Netflix films Day Shift and They Cloned Tyrone, will also be there. This will be Foxx’s rd significant Netflix effort; his last two were the films Project Power and Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! Previously, the two stars starred together in the 2014 film Annie.

According to star Jamie Foxx, Netflix’s Back in Action is probably in pre-production, with the script completely completed and filming slated for late 2022.
