Kim Cattrall has recently joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix series Glamorous. She will appear in the series, which examines lesbian identity and the beauty industry, opposite Miss Benny. Ten episodes will make up the first season, which comes from CBS Studios. Jordon Nardino is the creator and producer of the show. Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow of Two Shakes Entertainment are the series’ executive producers.
Until he gets a job working with Madolyn Addison, played by Cattrall, a makeup expert and former golden era supermodel who owns a boutique beauty line, Miss Benny’s character, Marco Mejia, a young gender non-conforming queer guy, feels stuck in his life both personally and professionally. When their paths cross, Madolyn recognises Marco’s potential and snatches him away from his makeup counter so he can contribute his skills and perspective to the corporate level of her business.
Cattrall’s Madolyn Addison, a old-timer from the Golden Age of Supermodels, is the founder and CEO of the prestigious boutique beauty brand that bears her name. Marco Mejia (Miss Benny) is an opportunity that the quick-witted executive sees as she works to shake up her company. She moves him from the makeup counter to a seat at the table while upsetting some people in the process.
Cattrall made her film debut in the crude comedy Porky’s from the 1980s, and in Mannequin from 1987, she played the lead part. She is arguably best recognised for her role as the sexually liberated and fiercely independent Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City. Cattrall most recently made an appearance in Hilary Duff’s Sophie’s older self in the television show How I Met Your Father.
Zane Phillips, who will play Chad, Madolyn’s son and the company’s director of sales, Jade Payton, who will play Venetia, Madolyn’s first assistant who mentors Marco, Michael Hsu Rosen, who will play Ben, a graphic designer at Glamorous by Madolyn, Ayesha Harris, who will play Britt, a fellow graphic designer at Glamorous by Madolyn, and Graham Parkhurst, who will play Parker in the series.
