After the first two seasons of the Nick show were added in June 2022, Zoey 101 is trending in Netflix’s top ten charts in the United States. As any Zoey 101 fan will know, Netflix is missing seasons of the show that did not arrive, but will they be available soon? We have bad news.
Zoey 101, which aired between 2005 and 2008, was one of many shows produced by Dan Schneider and arguably launched the careers of several young actors at the time. The plot revolves around a group of friends at Pacific Coast Academy.
Jamie Lynn Spears (who currently stars in Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, which was recently renewed for a third season), Paul Butcher, Victoria Justice (star of Victorious, as well as Netflix’s A Perfect Pairing and Afterlife of the Party), Sean Flynn, Kristin Herrera, Christopher Massey, and Alexa Nikolas were among the show’s stars.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Zoey 101 have been introduced to Netflix along with a variety of other Nickelodeon live-action classics, such as Kenan and Kel, All That, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, and of course, Zoey 101.
Currently, Netflix is streaming all 26 episodes from the first two seasons (note, they split the second season’s Spring Break-Up episode into two), but they are still lacking the 36 episodes from seasons three and four.
Here’s the bad news, though.
The decision to licence only two of the four seasons of the programme was made on purpose, and based on previous seasons of vintage Nick shows that have been brought to Netflix (like iCarly and The Thundermans), we won’t see seasons 3–4 added at all.
This is because Paramount (formerly ViacomCBS), the company that owns Nickelodeon and consequently this show, is using Netflix to increase viewership of Zoey 101 in the hopes that you’ll be driven to sign up for their streaming service.
What is this competing streaming platform? Well, it goes by the name of Paramount+ and is mostly where the majority of Nickelodeon’s enormous collection is kept. All 4 seasons are accessible there in HD. There is also a Paramount+ version that is financed by advertisements, allowing you to subscribe for less money.
According to our information, Netflix will maintain the first two seasons of Zoey 101 for a period of two years, which means Netflix US will continue to air the programme until 2024.
