Season 2 of Netflix’s First Kill: What to Expect

first

First Kill, a new teen drama series about a vampire who falls in love with a vampire hunter, is one of Netflix’s big new premieres in 2022. The show clearly sets up a second season, but will we be returning for season 2? Here’s what we know so far.
V.E. Schwab’s new series, Juliette and Calliope, premieres on June 3rd, 2022, to the disappointment and surprise of everyone around them.
Imani Lewis as Calliope Burns, Sarah Catherine Hook as Juliette Fairmont, Elizabeth Mitchell as Margot Fairmont, and Gracie Dzienny as Elinor Fairmont are among the series’ cast members.

The series’ reviews appear to have divided critics and audiences. On RottenTomatoes, the show has a 52 percent approval rating among critics but a 93 percent approval rating among audiences. The series currently has a 6.2 rating on IMDb. It’s worth noting that the show has a sizable and vocal social media following.

Is Netflix planning a second season of First Kill?

We don’t think it’s appropriate to make a forecast about the show’s future at this time. To determine whether the show will be renewed, we’ll be watching how it does in weeks 2 and 3. The likelihood that a show won’t succeed is usually high if we observe declines in viewing of more than 50%. The following section will discuss the show’s performance.
The series’ performance, particularly in weeks 2 and 3, will ultimately determine whether it is renewed.
Many of the show’s fans have already provided an explanation for why they believe the series won’t be renewed by using social media to voice their displeasure with the advertising for the series.

How popular is First Kill on Netflix?

The show racked up 30.34 million hours in its first three days on Netflix worldwide, moving it up to number 7 for the week. Surviving Summer and, of course, Stranger Things dominated headlines and viewership in that first week, giving it fierce competition.
The show saw a 61 percent rise in viewers in week 2 with 48.77 million hours watched.
30,340,000 hours were viewed between June 5 and June 12, 2022. (M)
48,770,000 (up 61%) from June 12 to June 19, 2022 Viewed Hours (M)

First Kill’s initial three-day run can be compared to other shows to determine how it compares. In contrast, Heartstopper only received 14.55 million views (which declined with episodes that were shorter in length).
A different sci-fi/fantasy-like programme with a makeup that is similar is In From The Cold. In its first three days on the service, that accrued 24.72M hours. Even if that show hasn’t been picked up for a second season yet, it’s important to note that viewership dropped significantly from weeks two to three—by a whopping 64%.

Season 2 of First Kill on Netflix: What to Expect

This eventually leads to a major squabble, with Juliette and Calliope’s relationship seemingly dead, and Cal vowing to one day kill Juliette and all legacies like her.
One of the major plot lines for a second season would be Theo’s transformation into a vampire and his journey into that world and coming to terms with his new reality. According to DigitalSpy, Elinor is in trouble for a second season by saying:

“Elinor’s involvement in the Theo-vamp saga has inadvertently landed her in police custody.” How will she get out of jail without her parents’ help? Multiple murders are on the horizon.”
