Why is there a delay in renewing? Although the exact cause of why the renewal took so long is unknown, we can speculate based on past renewals that also took some time.

Outer Banks Season 3 on Netflix: What to Expect

If the show is renewed, we can expect it to continue to take the twists and turns that we’ve grown accustomed to over the first 20 episodes. Let’s take a quick look back at Season 2 of Outer Banks and where it will lead us in Season 3.
The war between the Camerons and the Pogues is likely to continue, with Pope eager to reclaim the now-stolen golden cross. While fleeing the large ship, Pope declares, “It’s not over,” as they seek refuge on a remote abandoned island. They decide to stay on the island, but they won’t be there long, especially since their family has reported them missing.

The Pope will almost certainly continue to investigate his family’s connection to the Santo Domingo Cross. Ward Cameron famously faked his death in season 2 and is now attempting to stay under the radar. Ward is likely to continue to play a key role in the conflict going forward after a few run-ins near the end of the second season, including John B sparing his life, but will he be caught?

Chase Stokes teased the new season’s “vibe shift” to EliteDaily, saying, “The writers really like to keep us on our toes, and I think that creates performances that catch you in the moment… “I have no idea what’s going on beyond what we shot in Barbados,” she adds, “but I believe a lot of loose ends will be tied up.” Many questions will be answered. And, as is customary, these kids will be put through the wringer.”

When will Outer Banks season 3 be available on Netflix?

There is currently no official release date for Outer Banks season 3 on Netflix. However, based on previous seasons’ production schedules, we can already speculate on when the next season will be released.
Outer Banks’ second season was shot between August 2020 and April 2021, and will be released four months later, at the end of July 2021. If a similar schedule is followed and there are no delays or problems with the filming schedule, season 3 could premiere on Netflix in December 2022. At the very least, we anticipate the return of the Outer Banks by February 2023.
