You have to move quickly! Season 1 of Sonic Prime, starring the iconic blue Sonic the Hedgehog, will be released on Netflix in 2022. Here’s everything we know so far about the first season of Sonic Prime on Netflix.
Sonic Prime is a Netflix Original animated series created by Justin Peniston, Duncan Rouleau, and Omar Spahi. Flixzilla, who recently animated Hamster & Gretel and is currently working on the upcoming Inspector Gadget project, is producing the series.
Who are the Sonic Prime cast members?
Deven Christian Mack, who has previously voiced King Vangelis in LEGO: Ninjago, Chuck in Angry Birds: Summer Madness, and Wynton Styles in Bakugan: Battle Planet, will play the spiky-haired blue hedgehog. The remaining cast members have been revealed, but it is unknown what roles they will play.
Brian Drummond previously provided the voice of Knuckles in Sonic Underground, so the actor is almost certainly reprising the role. Sonic Prime’s cast is as follows:
Sonic Prime story
Sonic will find himself “in a high-octant adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands,” according to Wildbrain. According to the website, the character will go on a “journey of self-discovery and redemption.”
The concept of the multiverse is intriguing – it could imply that different versions of Sonic will congregate in one location. We could see the main game version, the recent Boom version, the anime version from Sonic X, and the 2020 movie variant, just to name a few.
It’s worth noting that the two most recent animated series, Sonic Boom and Sonic Mania Adventures, are directly related to the games. As a result, we suspect that this latest 3D animation is also linked to the next big game.
The fandom is now speculating that this animation is related to Sonic Frontiers, in which an alleged SEGA tester leaked that Sonic went through ‘different dimensions.’
When will Sonic Prime be available on Netflix?
The series will premiere on Netflix in 2022, with a total of 24 episodes. This announcement was made on Twitter by Netflix, along with the official name reveal and logo. We don’t yet have an estimated month for the series, but we’ll update this article if we learn anything new.
