The new Disney+ series National Treasure, which is based on the same-named movies, will include Jacob Vargas in a recurring role. Deadline broke the news of Vargas’ casting and included some details about the role he will be portraying.
Producer of the movie Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub, and authors Marianne and Cormac Wibberley are executive producing this new series. Rick Muirragui, who also writes for the show, co-executive produces it with Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, and Turteltaub.
Rafael is a “rugged, treasure-obsessed, adventurous personality with a decent sense of humour,” according to the description of Vargas’ character. Vargas is expected to play a significant role in the show’s plot, according to the report, which also states that he will have a prominent recurring role in the series. The show’s main antagonist, Billie, a tough millionaire, expert in black-market antiquities, and treasure hunter who lives by her own code, will also be portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones in “National Treasure.” Zuri Reed, Jordan Rodrigues, Antonio Cipriano, Jake Austin Walker, and Lyndon Smith are featured in the show as well.
Recently, Vargas played the role of Tony Ochoa in the Netflix series Mr. Iglesias. He also recently returned to Sons of Anarchy as Allesandro Montez in the FX series Mayans MC. Additionally, he played Domingo Colon in Luke Cage. Princess of the Row, The 33, and Diego Luna’s biography of Cesar Chavez are just a few of Vargas’ filmography credits. The last time we saw him was in Steven Soderbergh’s Kimi.
